Hello, please tell me how to get your 50% discount back? I’m told in the insurance if I would come at the end of my insurance (OSAGO), then I would take out insurance in 50%, and since I arrived 2 weeks later after the end, but now I get a 10% discount, they say that what kind of All-Russian computer program charges me, is that true? maybe this?

According to the current legislation, the cost of an OSAGO policy must be the same regardless of the insurance company chosen and the place of its acquisition.
You can make a preliminary calculation of the cost of your MTPL insurance policy yourself, there are many online calculators of MTPL policies on the Internet that allow you to calculate the cost of the policy based on:
- at the cost of the previous policy CTP;
- excluding previous insurance history;
- for a given value of the coefficient of the bonus-malus.
Discount on insurance policy
Let's consider to whom and what discounts on CTP policy are legally established.
Discount on CTP insurance policy for trouble-free
Every year, break-even driving allows the driver to extend the CTP policy with a discount of 5%.
Upon expiration of the policy, the policyholder can go to any insurance company while maintaining the current discount for trouble-free. The accumulated discount applies to all drivers inscribed in the CTP policy. A valid discount can be applied when buying a new car.
There is a possibility of replacing the owner in the current CTP policy. This opportunity is valid under the condition that if the owner of the vehicle is replaced, the insured will remain the same, and the list of drivers approved for management will not be extended. Such an operation will save money on termination and re-conclusion of the contract.
Some insurance companies refuse to include the new owner in the current policy and insist on concluding a new insurance contract.
Such a refusal is illegal.
First, in the RSA guidelines, there is no explicit prohibition on making such changes. Secondly, according to the current rules of CTP:
- in case of a change in the owner of the vehicle, the policyholder “ON THE RIGHT to terminate the insurance contract ahead of schedule”
- the policyholder has the right to make changes to the insurance contract.
In this case, it may be necessary to adjust the cost of the policy due to a change in the territorial coefficient, if the new owner lives in another region.
If necessary, it is possible to reissue the CTP policy without restrictions into a normal policy. In this case, the owner will save the accumulated discount.
However, drivers who the policyholder wishes to include in the insurance contract in addition to themselves may affect the size of the discount and the final cost of the policy. Therefore, to determine the final cost of the policy, information is needed on other compulsory insurance contracts (auto) of civil liability, in which these drivers appear. If there is no insurance history for one of the drivers, the cost of the new policy is determined without taking into account the discounts for accident-free driving accumulated by the other drivers.
We should also consider car insurance without limiting the number of drivers allowed to drive. In this case, the discount gets bound to the car and its owner. The rest of the drivers have the right to drive this car on a general basis, but they do not accumulate discounts for accident-free driving.
Maximum discount on CTP insurance policy
According to the current legislation, the cost of an OSAGO policy must be the same regardless of the insurance company chosen and the place of its acquisition.
The maximum discount for trouble-free at the moment is 50%.
To achieve it, the driver needs the experience of 10 years or more of break-even driving.
However, experience shows that some unscrupulous agents think differently ...
Next to any MREO, you can see dozens of minibuses and stationary carriages dazzling with advertising signs. Their inhabitants vied with each other to offer you to buy an OSAGO policy, to issue a car purchase and sale agreement, and some - for their help in obtaining a diagnostic card, which came to replace the inspection.
Going into one of the trailers for registration of the contract of sale, one of our customers immediately receives a tempting offer - to purchase CTP insurance policy with a discount of 40 percent. At the same time, the persistent seller was not embarrassed by either the young age of the driver or his small driving experience. The following counter-question about the legitimacy of granting such a high discount, the female agent gave the following answer: “The insurance company allowed me to give my clients additional discounts.”
When entering into a new or renewing a valid contract of obligatory insurance of an AGO, the insurer is obliged to check the unprofitability of each driver inscribed in the policy through a single information system. Of course, the insurer-intermediary will not be able to provide such a discount on legal grounds - he bears financial and legal responsibility for his actions to the insurance company. Therefore, it is likely that the driver will sell the CTP policy of the bankrupt company, or issue it on an unrecorded, stolen or fake form.
If the driver, “insured” in this way, becomes the cause of the accident, “his” insurance company has the full right to refuse to pay the victims and the burden of reparation for the damage suffered will fall entirely on the culprit’s shoulders.
Sincerely, lawyer Anatoly Antonov.
